I use to not accept myself at all. Like you, my inner critic had a loud voice. Rejecting and criticizing myself DID NOT work. Ironically, I learned to accept myself when I was the "most unacceptable" after my brain injury. It helped me appreciate how capable I really was. Acceptance does not mean complacent. Too many people confuse the two.
